Supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, in Summer 2019 we worked with the BAME and Latin American community based in North East England to record personal reflections on heritage and their related stories, traditions and experiences captured through audio, video and photography.
In September 2019 a resultant exhibition took place in central Newcastle and featured photography, video, live music and dance performances. The project is made possible by money raised by National Lottery players as part of The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
This website acts as a permanent project archive with different routes provided to access the material produced. Please explore the links to photography, events and video interviews as well as the archive and digital map. The website is a dynamic resource existing beyond the lifetime of the ‘funded’ project and we encourage new interviewees, new archive material and to exploring new content and distribution routes. Feel free to get in touch if you have a story, reflection or material that you would like to share and add to this archive!
